  • Q: Why has Neets upgraded the SieRRa to a SieRRa II?
A: The SieRRa II has with a brand new and powerful processor - same processor as in the DelTa. This makes the SieRRa II a very powerful device with new features including PoE (Power over Ethernet), which optimizes the power supply for the SieRRa II.

While the original SieRRa only supports five devices, the SieRRa II will connect up to 10 devices via LAN.
  • Q: SieRRa II has three I/O ports. What are they for?
A: Most people opt to use two I/O ports for controlling the projector screen – one for roll-down and one for roll-up. With the third I/O port, you are able to connect a PIR motion sensor, which is brilliant for designing eco-friendly installations. You can make the PIR turn off your installation when no motion is detected and remember to time the system so that it does not turn off too soon.

What you could also use your I/O for is a keyboard lock, which prevents unwanted handling of the control panel.
  • Q: Is it possible to access a GUI (Graphical User Interface) with the SieRRa II?
A: Yes, you can freely configure and design a GUI for the SieRRa II in Project Designer.
  • Q: Can I use my SieRRa II to control IR devices and how many?
A: With the Neets Dual IR Emitter PN 307-0286, the TX/IR port can be setup with four IR emitters. In case you need more IR emitters, you will need to go with an AlFa II or DelTa.
  • Q: Why do both of the IR devices react to the same output command?
A: They do so because Neets Control System sends out the same command string to both IR emitters, so if you have two similar devices using the same IR codes, they will react simultaneously.
  • Q: Are all the button functions pre-defined?
A: No, all the buttons are freely configurable with the Neets Configuration Software.
  • Q: Is the SieRRa II expandable?
Q: Yes, you can expand with up to two NEB modules, choose between up to two extra NEB Keypads and/or up to two NEB Level Controls and/or one NEB Port Expansion.

For further specification, please go to our website and find Neets Expansion Bus in the product page section.
  • Q: Why can’t I find the original SieRRa in Neets Project Designer?
A: The original SieRRa has been superseded by the SieRRa II, so if you have an original SieRRa, you need to configure your project using Neets Project Editor.
  • Q: What software should I use for configuring the SieRRa II?
A: We recommend that you use the newest version of Neets Project Designer.
  • Q: Can I use the SieRRa II with Neets Central Control?
A: Yes, the SieRRa II is available in Neets Central Control.
  • Q: Does the SieRRa II control system have different LED colors for each individual state?
A: Yes, all of the LEDs change colors according to the state of each button.
  • Q: How do I use the built in infrared learner?
A: Behind the third row of buttons, there is a infrared learner. Connect the SieRRa II to your computer via USB, open Neets Device Editor and choose the port to which the SieRRa II is connected. Now learn the codes for the device as you would do with the Neets Uni IR Learner.

When using the SieRRa II as an infrared learner, please make sure the control system is not in an error state.
  • Q: Can I power the SieRRa II with both PSU and PoE?
A: No, it is important to only use one of the two methods of powering the SieRRa II panel.
  • Q: What should I do when I want to use the panel as Enhanced LAN expansion?
A: Upload an empty project into the panel. This ensures that the systems are running the same firmware.
  • Q: How does extension devices communicate with the control system?
A: The Neets Control system uses Multicast to communicate. This is done on IP address port 7979.
    • Each control system/extension device sends out a "keep a live" every 3 seconds.
    • If the control system has not received any message from an extension device for 10 sec it will indicate connection error.
    • The timeout is an individual timer for each extension device.
    • The “missing connection” indication will be removed when the connection is established and the extension device is initialized again.
    • The 10 sec timeout is reset whenever there are communication between the units e.g. when RS232 commands is transmitted or an event is triggered.
    • The control systems support IGMP, this allows the control system to only receive multicast packages on the address that it need and it also doesn't “Pollute” the entire network like UDP broadcast. In order to use IGMP the switch also need to support this.
  • Q: The panel won't start up when i want to upload?
A: Remove SD card and format in Fat32, and try again.
